When I first decided to start my business, I found comfort and purpose in the name True Image BHW and the tagline “a beauty, health, and wellness conscientious-lifestyle company”. One reason I started TIBHW was to encourage people to “Eat more raw, living, and plant-based cuisine in your daily diet!” I developed the acronym “RLPC”, which stands for “raw living plant-based cuisine” and “BEER” for “Be Energized. Eat Raw!”
TIBHW has also been my vehicle for sharing my head/hair wrapping products and handmade jewelry. It encompassed the notion of beauty as an integral part and, perhaps, the beginning of being healthy and well. I have used TIBHW as a means to encourage women to embrace there ME-ness by creatively infusing their personality into the environment around them. True Image BHW was meant for women who love to express and creatively adorn their natural beauty as the beginning step toward acknowledging their uniqueness and letting it be known that they have something special and worthy to contribute. For many of us, change is initiated from the outside-in as a response to uncomfortable external pressures that force us to change. As we move and stir within, we can uncover our intangible essence, which spreads beyond all apparent boundaries. When we realize how large we are, how magnificently we are able to touch lives far and away, we have found our strength and can muster the courage to begin a healing journey from the inside-out. Although adornment includes external things, like the clothing we wear, it also includes the spaces in which we immerse ourselves, such as our personal environment. We adorn our minds with creative, beautiful, powerful thoughts so that, most importantly, our adornment also includes the internal work we do to sharpen our minds and settle our emotions so we can communicate a clear and powerful message to the world.
Adorning our minds! How cool is that?
Over time, my primary business purpose has evolved in ways that allow me to incorporate much of what I started in TIBHW with my work as a certified and licensed bodywork therapist. You can find out more about that by clicking here. You I expanded my vision and intention to one of helping women find freedom, integrity, and grace through their body, mind, and spirit. Of course, this goes for me as well, and I can attest to the fact that it is an ongoing journey with many ups and downs and frequent rests. TIBHW is the vehicle through which I pursue my mission to explore the intersections of beauty, health, and wellness and to find ways to merge my interests in spirituality, alternative healing, natural wellness, healthy eating, arts and crafts, and a holistic lifestyle.
Many people contact me because of pain or discomfort in their body. The know that something needs to change. Relief can be experienced more rapidly and more noticeably at the level of the physical body, so that is where I generally begin working. In my massage and bodywork practice, Chokkan Shiatsu and Wellness Center, I combine my advanced training as a shiatsu practitioner with techniques of various forms of bodywork and energy management, such as massage, CranioSacral Balancing, and ReiKI. However, lasting change requires taking in new sources of energy and information. This need for increased vitality and inner power loops me back around to my original purpose for True Image BHW.
“Eat more raw, living, and plant-based cuisine in your daily diet!”
Individualized or group training and education about RLPC (while respecting my clients overall dietary choices) is sufficient to begin supporting the naturally occurring generative power within each person. Dramatic, positive results are possible, such as relief from chronic pain and stress, greater feelings of vitality, and a profound sense of renewal.
For clients who want to actualize deeper and more consistent states of relaxation, a greater sense of self-worth, and a more profound, ongoing sense of joy, I help them reframe their use of thought, speech, and the written word through the art of creative expression. Local clients are are able to include the added benefit of bodywork sessions and in-person creative activities. My work through TIBHW combines actionable explorations of beauty, respect, dignity, and love using simple tools for design and adornment, as well as avenues for improved health and greater vitality.
